I am unofficially following along a photography course that Ian is teaching. Here’s a follow up to a recent exercise (photograph something in your wardrobe that captures your style): I chose to focus on a locket and a ring that I have from my grandma. The ring was her “mother’s ring,” containing the birthstones of my cousins and me.
Wearing these pieces is fun, and people often comment or ask questions. As I have the chance to reminisce about Grandma Betty, sometimes I get a glimpse into someone else’s life when they reveal a favorite family item of their own. Having pieces like this remind me how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family history, on all sides.
The benefits of being a professor’s wife? I get to participate in fun activities that my husband does with his students, with no papers or exams!
